Vision Zero
Free Webinar to CARSP Members

February 15, 2017, 11am-12pm MST / 1pm-2pm EST

Vision Zero has gained national attention as a leading approach to improving road safety due in great part to successes in Sweden and recent adoption by many jurisdictions in North America. This webinar will cover the principles of Vision Zero and compare it to other leading approaches. A major focus of the webinar will be on the importance of how Vision Zero is communicated to the public to gain support for the approach and avoid skepticism or division of user groups.

Presenter: Tony Churchill is a board member of the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals since 2014. He is the Leader of Traffic Safety for the City of Calgary, and the steward of the Safer Mobility Plan. Tony holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary with a focus on traffic safety, he worked as a researcher for a year at the Dutch Road Safety Institute (SWOV), and he worked as a consultant for five years specializing in traffic safety before joining the City of Calgary. He has a wife and two kids, one of whom plans to get his GDL license this year!
