Safe Kids Week May 30 to June 5\ufeff"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span>This year, Parachute's <\/span><span>Safe Kids Week<\/span><span> will focus on the safety and health benefits of encouraging school-age children to engage in active transportation: that is, to walk, cycle or wheel to school or other nearby destinations, rather than be driven.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span>While many parents believe their children are safer protected within the metal encasing of a vehicle, in fact, the proliferation of car drop-offs and pick-ups in school zones create dangers for all children.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>Parachute will be providing resources for their partners - from a social media guide to fact sheets and suggested activities - later in the spring.
