Since then, the project has turned into an experience emulating a theme park teaching many different lessons around roadside safety, all with a common message, so everyone can make it home safe at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Named by the Vancouver sun as the #2 reason (behind the rodeo itself) to visit the rodeo and exhibition, the event has seen tremendous growth in 3 years and has become a popular attraction in the community'<\/p>\n<p>Aims\/Objectives<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to change road user behavior, to slow down, pay attention and be respectful in roadside work zones highlight new slow down move over legislation<\/li>\n<li>raise awareness to the dangers roadside workers face and gain appreciation for the work they do<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Target Group<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>tomorrow's drivers (kids 10 - 16) and their parents<\/li>\n<li>open to all members of the public, there are events that appeal to all demographics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Activities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FREE Roadside work themed go-kart track with roadside workers (flaggers directing first-time drivers through detours in track)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Discussion\/Deliverables<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Change in road user behavior<\/li>\n<li>change in perception towards roadside work<\/li>\n<li>shaping future drivers' behavior<\/li>\n<li>creating a platform that roadside workers can engage with the public in a real way to'<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:1px;border-color:#ccc\"><\/div>Bob Nielsen, Sarina Hanschke<br \/>\r\n<span class=\"red bold\">Mavis Johnson Traffic Safety Award<\/span>\n<h2>R\u00e9sum\u00e9:<\/h2>\n<p>Lanc\u00e9 en 2013, le \u00ab Cone Zone Kart Track \u00bb est une initiative d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e \u00e0 engager un large \u00e9ventail d'auditoires usagers de la route pour communiquer les dangers li\u00e9s \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re tout en misant sur une prise de conscience de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 campagne d'\u00e9ducation publique dirig\u00e9 par l'industrie intitul\u00e9 \u00ab Cone Zone \u00bb. Depuis la conception, le projet a \u00e9volu\u00e9 en un carnaval comme \u00ab Exp\u00e9rience Cone Zone \u00bb immersive et interactive livr\u00e9 \u00e0 des foires provinciales, sans frais pour les participants, d'enseigner une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de meilleures pratiques en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re avec un message humaniste centrale: ralentir pour tout le monde peut faire \u00e0 la maison en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin de la journ\u00e9e. Le \u00ab Exp\u00e9rience Cone Zone \u00bb a pris une approche novatrice en ciblant principalement les conducteurs de demain (jeunesses 10 - 16) pour habiliter, \u00e9duquer et renforcer les comportements de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re destin\u00e9s aux adultes, des parents ou des tuteurs qui sont devenus le public cible secondaire. Les objectifs de la \u00ab Exp\u00e9rience Cone Zone \u00bb sont \u00e0 modifier le comportement des usagers de la route \u00e0 ralentir, faites attention, et \u00eatre respectueux dans les zones de travaux routiers; mettre en \u00e9vidence de nouveaux \u00ab move \u00bb ralentir au cours \u00bb des lois provinciales; sensibiliser aux dangers travailleurs en bordure de route sont confront\u00e9s (et obtenir satisfaction pour le travail qu'ils font); promouvoir des pratiques s\u00fbres pour l'utilisation de la voie publique (par exemple ne pas utiliser des dispositifs mobiles); comprendre les impacts des facult\u00e9s affaiblies (, distrait, fatigu\u00e9, en col\u00e8re ivre) conduite a sur la perception, temps de r\u00e9action, et la demande cognitive dans les zones de travail; cr\u00e9er une \u00abexp\u00e9rience d'apprentissage de la famille multi-facettes \u00bb. Une enqu\u00eate post exp\u00e9rience a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e avec un petit \u00e9chantillon de participants adultes qui a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 des r\u00e9sultats positifs pour d\u00e9caler leur comportement d'utilisation routi\u00e8re.
