One of the major causes of road accidents for this driver’s category is fatigue. Technologies are developed to detect fatigue and alert the driver in order to avoid accidents. A variety of measures exist to prevent the driver’s state of fatigue. The most reliable are: (1) behavioural measures; (2) physiological measures and (3) performance measures. In this paper, we look at research on technologies focusing on the detection of fatigue among drivers, and more specifically aging drivers. We explain how technologies could help drivers to detect fatigue through experimental studies. We analyze the pro and cons of these technologies and we see the benefit for older drivers. We conclude with recommendations on the design of future systems for older drivers.

[100,346

post-18603","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-2015-carsp-conference-acpser-ottawa","category-research-and-evaluation
["GET
