The partnership was established to enable our two organizations to work more closely together on matters of mutual interest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the first full year of the partnership, the organizations delivered the following items:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A joint webinar on Building Capacity\/\u00e9 for Sustainable Transportation in December 2023<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A joint session at each\u2019s annual conference in 2025:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ITE Canada Conference session entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vision Zero: A Journey of a Lifetime<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CARSP Conference session entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Equity in Transportation Planning<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Representation of the President of each organization at the other\u2019s conference, including speaking at the above panel sessions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reciprocal promotion of each other's events and conferences, with a focus on areas of common interest<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Year 2 of the agreement, the above activities will continue, and additionally the following opportunities will be explored:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The start of conversations regarding potential joint student initiatives at the local level, for example, through Student Chapters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possible collaborations with mentorship programs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possible joint training opportunities<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We hope that our members have benefitted from this partnership, through increase communications, expanded learning, and networking opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone wishing to learn more about the partnership agreement or to provide your feedback are asked to contact either Brenda Suggett, CARSP Executive Director, at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:brenda.suggett@carsp.ca\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">brenda.suggett@carsp.ca<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or James Kennedy Johnstone, ITE Canada Business Manager, at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:jkjohnstone@itecanada.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">jkjohnstone@itecanada.org<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>ITE Canada President: Pedram Izadpanah, Ph.D., P.Eng., RSP1 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-38473\" src=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Picture1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"506\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Picture1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Picture1.jpg 566w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Valerie Smith, Parachute, and Pedram Izadpanah, ITE Canada<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-38563\" src=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3-1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3-1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3-1.jpg 551w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ITE Canada Events and News<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ITE Canada continues to support a strong partnership with CARSP. At our 2024 Annual Conference, ITE Canada President <strong>Pedram Izadpanah<\/strong> organized a <a href=\"https:\/\/site.pheedloop.com\/event\/itecanada2024\/schedule\/SESARL9WU2RZN6J24\">Vision Zero panel discussion<\/a> featuring CARSP President <strong>Valerie Smith<\/strong>, Parachute; CARSP Board Member <strong>Todd Snooks<\/strong>, York Regional Police; and Adam St. Amant from the City of Lethbridge. It was a very well-attended session presenting a range of perspectives and feedback was positive with many expressing a desire for more conversations like this in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Our Hamilton 2024 Annual Conference was a great success with over 500 delegates, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors connecting to share ideas and move the transportation profession forward. The theme is<em> COMPLETE COMMUNITIES - Integrating Transportation and Land Use Planning<\/em>. Watch for the Call for Abstracts and Sponsor\/Exhibitor applications opening this fall to be announced via our email list and social media accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Also coming this fall will be a joint webinar to be hosted by ITE Canada and offered to CARSP members featuring ITE Canada\u2019s 2024 Stan Teply Outstanding Technical Project Award winner: the <strong><em>Design Guide for Bus Stops Adjacent to Cycling Infrastructure<\/em><\/strong> (Project Partners: TransLink, B.C. Ministry of Transportation &amp; Infrastructure, Urban Systems, Toole Design Group, EAP Consulting, and Universal Access Design). To be presented by Brian Patterson of Urban Systems, the webinar will dive into the details of this first-of-its-kind design guide that addresses significant knowledge gaps in the profession.
