{"id":39256,"date":"2025-01-20T21:00:13","date_gmt":"2025-01-20T21:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/?p=39256"},"modified":"2025-01-20T21:00:13","modified_gmt":"2025-01-20T21:00:13","slug":"partner-news-ite-canada-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/en\/news\/carsp-news\/partner-news-ite-canada-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Partner News &#8211; ITE Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As we enter the final year of CARSP and ITE Canada\u2019s partnership agreement, we are pleased to continue collaboration and information sharing between the two organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roadway safety is a major priority for ITE International and the organization has released its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ite.org\/about-ite\/safety-roadmap\/\"><b><i>Safety Roadmap and Action Plan (2025-2027)<\/i><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an initiative aiming to achieve zero road fatalities through collaborative and collective action. With actionable strategies and a focus on equity, innovation, and collaboration, this roadmap will guide ITE\u2019s development and dissemination of resources, services, and tools to foster a cultural shift and drive meaningful change in service of safer transportation systems. Identified initiatives fall under five headings:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student Engagement<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Professional Development<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ITE Initiatives<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technical Resources<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Partnerships<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We invite you to learn more about the planned actions and find out how you can get involved in the development of these resources and services:\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ite.org\/about-ite\/safety-roadmap\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ite.org\/about-ite\/safety-roadmap\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Safety will also feature prominently in ITE Canada\u2019s first-ever <\/span><b><i>Virtual Technical Symposium<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Held over two half-days on February 5 and 6, 2025, the symposium will provide access to curated content on emergency planning, functional planning design, traffic and multimodal analysis, and safety. The final session may be of particular interest to CARSP members as it will showcase the development of high-level safety strategies that municipalities have undertaken to create safer streets for their constituents. The initiatives that will be highlighted range from new strategies that have begun to chart the course for the implementation of the Safe System Approach, to those that have been working at this for decades and are fine-tuning their programs and processes. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We invite you to learn more and <\/span><\/i><b><i>register by February 4<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/itecanada.org\/2025-virtual-technical-symposium\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">itecanada.org\/2025-virtual-technical-symposium<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CARSP members may also be interested in our training on <\/span><b><i>Transportation and Affordability: Planning Complete Networks to Reduce Auto-Dependence<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> presented by Matt Pinder, Narayan Donaldson, and Arianne Robillard of Mobycon. This half-day virtual workshop features hands-on exercises to help transportation professionals understand the role they can play in addressing the housing crisis, what \u201ccar-lite\u201d communities look like, and how to design and implement complete networks for new and intensifying communities. The program, centred on the conference theme\u2014<\/span><b>Complete Communities: <\/b><b><i>Integrating Transportation and Land Use Planning<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will include many safety-related presentations in addition to two dedicated sessions on the topic. One of these will feature CARSP President Valerie Smith in a discussion panel on Vision Zero moderated by ITE Canada President Pedram Izadpanah. Registration will open by early February and we invite you to save the date (June 1-4, 2025) and plan to join us in beautiful Nova Scotia. We also invite any industry-leading companies interested in connecting with decision-makers and practitioners from across Canada at our conference to claim a sponsorship or trade show booth.
