Twenty-one (21) are now certified as RSP Level 2 and four (4) are certified in both specialties (Infrastructure and Behavioural)! <\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the completion of the cycle of exams in June 2025, there are 1,327 certified RSP Level 1 and 233 certified RSP Level 2 professionals worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The next two cycles of exams<\/strong> will take place in October 2025 and February 2026. Applications for the February 2026 cycle must be received by November 20, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><em>Transportation Professional Certification Board<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The TPCB was established in 1998 to provide a mechanism to create and administer professional certifications for those involved in the practice of transportation (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tpcb.org\">www.tpcb.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-38261\" src=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Picture1-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"76\" height=\"79\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-38262\" src=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Picture2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"63\" height=\"79\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-38263\" src=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Picture3-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"79\" height=\"78\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-38264\" src=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Picture4-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"79\" height=\"78\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Professional Traffic Operations Engineers (PTOE) certification exams are offered to professionals with expertise and experience in topics such as traffic operational analysis, traffic engineering studies, operational effects of geometric designs, traffic safety, traffic control devices, and social, environmental, and institutional issues.<\/p>\n<p>The Professional Transportation Planned (PTP) certification exams are offered to professionals with expertise in topics such as land use and transportation analysis, needs assessment for short- and long-range planning, transportation system planning and evaluation, public policy, environmental analysis, and plan implementation.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Road Safety Professional<\/strong>, <strong>Level 1,<\/strong> (RSP1) certification exams are offered to professionals who have demonstrated proficiency in the foundations of road safety principles and make decisions or take actions that potentially impact the safety of the travelling public. This includes individuals in the engineering, motor vehicle, behavioural, law enforcement, policy development, and emergency response communities.\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/rsp1\/exam-format-and-content\/\">https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/rsp1\/exam-format-and-content\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Road Safety Professional, Level 2<\/strong>, (RSP2) has two specialties: behavioural (RSP2B) and infrastructure (RSP2I). The certification exams are offered to professionals whose primary job functions are dedicated to improving the safety performance of the surface transportation system. This includes professionals responsible for developing and implementing engineering or behavioural programs aimed at reducing the number of fatalities and injuries due to road crashes. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/road-safety-professional-2\/infrastructure-domains1\/\">https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/road-safety-professional-2\/infrastructure-domains1\/<\/a>) and (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/road-safety-professional-2\/exam-format-and-content-behavior-domains\/\">https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/road-safety-professional-2\/exam-format-and-content-behavior-domains\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><em>New - Road Safety Audit Certification is being explored by TPCB<\/em><\/p>\n<p>TPCB is considering the development of a Road Safety Audit (RSA) Certification program to enhance industry consistency and strengthen professional competencies. To guide this effort, TPCB assembled an advisory group to provide input and recommendations to TPCB. The advisory group is comprised of Canadian and US practitioners representing public and private agencies, as well as academia.<\/p>\n<p>This advisory group is currently collecting feedback from the broader transportation industry in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>A survey has been developed for the CARSP members to complete with their feedback regarding the potential development of a RSA certification program.
