We are opening nominations to build a Board that reflects the diverse perspectives of the community we serve, and we are especially interested in applicants from diverse backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who We're Looking For<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We invite applicants who are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Age 18 or older<\/strong>, with a strong passion for community service.<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in <strong>Road Safety, Planning, and \/or Government Relations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Located in <strong>Ontario <\/strong>(Ottawa and Toronto, preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Willing to volunteer their time and talent to share skills and expertise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Previous Board experience is preferable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Term &amp; Time Commitment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a <strong>three (3) year term<\/strong>, with a time commitment of <strong>5-10 hours per month<\/strong>, depending on activity levels.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meetings:<\/strong> The Board meets bi-monthly with no meetings in July, August, November, and March.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Annual Retreat:<\/strong> A mandatory yearly retreat is held in May\/June to facilitate team building and strategic planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All available positions are elected at the Annual General Meeting or through a Special Members\u2019 Meeting<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application &amp; Interview Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To ensure a fair and comprehensive selection process, there will be an initial meeting with the Board Chair, and then the Nominations Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>deadline for applications is open.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Board Director, you will have opportunities for <strong>networking, learning, and contributing to improved road safety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to submit a nomination, please email Executive Director Jamie Kwong at <strong><a href=\"mailto:jamie.kwong@ottawasafetycouncil.ca\">jamie.kwong@ottawasafetycouncil.ca<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-39925\" src=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/BoD-Opportunity.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/BoD-Opportunity.png 1080w, https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/BoD-Opportunity-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/BoD-Opportunity-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/BoD-Opportunity-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/carsp.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/BoD-Opportunity-768x768.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ottawa Safety Council (OSC), a road safety focused charity, is seeking a Road Safety Expert to join its Board of Directors.
