At the CARSP Conference in Quebec City, CARSP and ITE Canada delivered a joint session on Vulnerable Road User Safety<\/em>. It was moderated by Irini Akhnouk, ITE Canada Vice President.<\/p>\n

At the ITE Canada Conference in Halifax, ITE Canada and CARSP delivered a joint panel session Multiple Roles, One Goal \u2013 Perspectives on Vision Zero in Action<\/em>. It was moderated by Pedram Izadpanah, ITE Canada President and the panelists included Raheem Dilgir, CARSP Liaison for the ITE Canada Partnership.<\/p>\n

Webinars<\/strong><\/p>\n

On February 27th, CARSP hosted a joint webinar on Sustainable Safety versus Vision Zero<\/em>, presented by Mobycon. The webinar examined the similarities and differences in the philosophies, best practices and practical applications between the two, using case studies from three countries. The webinar was attended by 109 participants, including members of both organizations.<\/p>\n

On September 25th, ITE Canada hosted a joint webinar on Island Platform Bus Stops \u2013 Emerging Trends, Technologies & Lessons Learned<\/em>, moderated by Urban Systems Ltd. The webinar built on the success of the Fall 2024 webinar on the TransLink and the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit\u2019s Design Guide for Bus Stops Adjacent to Cycling Infrastructure<\/em>. This time, the webinar featured several municipal representatives speaking about their experiences using the Guide and implementing \u201cFloating Bus Stops\u201d in their jurisdiction, and was attended by 222 members from both organizations. Students and Young Professionals Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>As part of the partnership, the CARSP Young Professionals Committee (YPC) collaborated with local ITE Student Chapters to host several joint events. This included a hybrid event on March 27th with the ITE McMaster Student Chapter, featuring guest speakers discussi\"\"ng road safety from academic and professional perspectives, followed by a networking session. Additionally, the YPC partnered with ITE Toronto to host a webinar on October 10 titled \u201cVision Zero & Road Safety in Canada,\u201d which attracted 165 participants. The Future of the CARSP\/ITE Canada Partnership <\/strong><\/p>\n

The partnership has benefited both organizations over its first 2.5 years. CARSP and ITE Canada are currently discussing the possibility of extending the partnership agreement. Future collaborations may include more activities targeted to Young Professionals, and the discussion and implementation of ITE\u2019s Safety Roadmap and Action Plan<\/em> in Canada.<\/p>\n
