Twenty-four (24) are now certified as RSP Level 2 and five (5) are certified in both specialties (Infrastructure and Behavioural)!\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the completion of the cycle of exams in October 2025, there were <\/span><b>1,409 certified RSP Level 1 and 248 certified RSP Level 2 professionals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> worldwide. The growth in recognition of professional certification in our field is reaching far, with professionals holding the RSP Level 1 certification in Australia (1), Bangladesh (1), Egypt (2), India (1), Japan (1), Jordan (1), New Zealand (1), Qatar (2), Saudia Arabia (35) and UAE (1). A road safety professional in India is now holding the RSP Level 2 certification!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Canadian Geographic Distribution of the RSP Level 1 Professionals\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, there are many certified RSP Level 1 professionals Canada (182) and they reside in Ontario (88), British Columbia (33), Alberta (32), Manitoba (10), Quebec (8), Saskatchewan (5), New Brunswick (3) and Nova Scotia (3). There are 68 RSP Level 1 professionals that work in public agencies. <\/span><b>The top public agencies with RSP Level 1 professionals are City of Calgary (7) and City of Toronto (5). The two top consulting companies with RSP Level 1 professionals are WSP (10) and CIMA + (9).\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Canadian Geographic Distribution of the RSP Level 2 Professionals\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are also many certified RSP Level 2 professionals in Canada (24) and they reside in Ontario (6), British Columbia (3), Alberta (10), Manitoba (3), Saskatchewan (1) and Nova Scotia (1). There are 11 RSP Level 2 professionals that work in public agencies. <\/span><b>The top public agency with RSP Level 2 professionals is City of Calgary (5) and top consulting company is WSP (2).\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Congrats to the Road Safety Professionals of the City of Calgary for leading the way<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Updated RSP Level 1 Exams and Resources<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Steve Kuciemba (TPCB CEO) reported in the December 2025 Newsletter (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/TPCB\/assets\/File\/Newsletters\/December%202025.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/TPCB\/assets\/File\/Newsletters\/December%202025.pdf<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ), that the TPCB Board of Directors adopted a new strategic plan that will carry TPCB through the next several years: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This plan includes an emphasis on maintaining the integrity and viability of the certifications through regular review and updating of our exams and question banks. In keeping with the aforementioned viability pledge, we spent much of the year updating the RSP1 exam to incorporate more recent advances in safety research and practice, and we will debut the updated questions with the February 2026 exam cycle<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This includes individuals in the engineering, motor vehicle, behavioural, law enforcement, policy development, and emergency response communities.\u00a0(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/rsp1\/exam-format-and-content\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.tpcb.org\/certification\/rsp1\/exam-format-and-content\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Road Safety Professional, Level 2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, (RSP<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) has two specialties: behavioural (RSP<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">B) and infrastructure (RSP<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I). The certification exams are offered to professionals whose primary job functions are dedicated to improving the safety performance of the surface transportation system. This includes professionals responsible for developing and implementing engineering or behavioural programs aimed at reducing the number of fatalities and injuries due to road crashes.
