Perceptions and behaviours of cannabis-impaired drivers: 2024 results from CAA’s annual cannabis-impaired driving survey of Ontario and Manitoba drivers
CARSP Webinar Series
Date/Time
Date(s) - December 11, 2024
12:00 pm EST - 1:00 pm EST

Since 2019, CAA has conducted a survey of over 1,500 Ontario licensed drivers with access to a vehicle through DIG Insights to measure perceptions and behaviours around cannabis-impaired driving following federal legalization in 2018. Starting in 2023, Manitoba was added to the survey and included a sample of over 500 Manitoba drivers. This presentation will showcase the 2024 results and highlight the increased trends in substance use among drivers, as well as alarming trends among those who drive after consuming cannabis. In addition, CAA will share insights into why drivers perceive alcohol-impaired driving as more dangerous than cannabis-impaired driving, as well as what led them to drive after consuming cannabis. Finally, the presentation will mention CAA’s past and current impaired driving prevention efforts.
