Brenda has been working with CARSP since May of 2010.  She started with CARSP in an administrative support capacity and has since become their Executive Director.  Brenda is responsible for the day-to-day operations of CARSP and is a resource to the CARSP board and its committees.  Brenda plays a key role in the strategic and operational planning of the organization.  She also plays a regular leadership role with CARSP’s annual flagship event the CARSP Conference.

Prior to joining CARSP Brenda worked in public health for 15 years.  She served as the first ever Epidemiologist for the Regina Health District.  She was also an Epidemiologist for the City of Hamilton for several years and for a brief period at the Niagara Region.  She also worked several years as a Health Information Analyst for Toronto Public Health.  As an Epidemiologist Brenda was responsible for developing community health status reports, supporting public health staff with program development, program evaluation, conducting population and/or analysing population health surveys, client satisfaction surveys and communicable disease outbreak investigation.  She also played a lead role in strategic planning.

While in Ontario Brenda was an active participant in the Association of Public Health Epidemiologists of Ontario for several years, and chaired their annual conference in 1996.  In Saskatchewan, Brenda was the Vice President of the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Canadian Evaluative Society.  She is also the author to several journal publications.

Brenda received her Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from the University of Waterloo in 1989 and a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Toronto in 1994.
