Ever hear the term DRE?  No.  Not Dr. DRE.  A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) is a highly trained police officer who is a valuable part of Impaired Driving investigations.  We will look at impaired driving investigations as a whole, what the investigation looks like and alcohol vs drug vs alcohol and drug impairment investigative steps and tools.  Take a brief walk through the history of the DRE program in Canada,  learn what a DRE is and what they do.  Learn how they gather evidence to prove impairment and what drug is causing the impairment, including a brief run down of the seven drug categories and some of the common indicators of each category.  Learn how that evidence is interpreted and how it is used in court to convict impaired drivers.

CARSP webinars are free for CARSP members.  Webinar recordings are posted 1-2 days after the live webinar takes place.  They are immediately available to CARSP members, and after one month, to the general public.  Not a CARSP member, you have two options for viewing the webinar. You can pay a one-time $50 fee to watch the live webinar, plus have immediate access to the webinar recording once it is posted. To take advantage of this option, check the applicable box on the registration form. The second option is to join CARSP!  Join here.
