Join us in 2026 for the CARSP/ACIP Conference, co-hosted with Parachute, in the vibrant and historic city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This year’s event will bring together industry leaders, government officials, engineers, public health professionals, researchers, safety advocates, and law enforcement officials from across Canada and around the globe to explore innovative strategies for making safety, both on-road and off-road, accessible for all users.
Set against Halifax’s scenic waterfront and coastal trails, the conference will focus on the shared challenges and opportunities in designing, managing, and promoting safe mobility across interconnected transportation networks. Discussions will explore how thoughtful design, infrastructure improvements, policy, education, and emerging technologies can work together to reduce injuries and fatalities—whether on busy urban roads, rural highways, or recreational pathways.
Topics will include pedestrian, ATV/Quad rider and cyclist protection, micromobility integration, safe trail design, the role of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and vehicle automation, predictive collision analytics, speed management, impaired and distracted driving prevention, occupant protection, and approaches for fostering safe shared spaces between motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Using the Safe System Approach as a guiding framework, attendees will learn from cutting-edge research, real-world case studies, and collaborative policy initiatives. Conference programming will feature plenary sessions, panels, and practitioner/researcher presentations, complemented by Student Paper and Poster Competitions, networking events, and the annual Networking and Awards Banquet—all in the unique and welcoming atmosphere of Halifax.
