ITE Update – Spring 2026
ITE Canada District is pleased to invite the CARSP community to connect with us in 2026 at in-person events, virtual offerings, resources from ITE International, and through local gatherings at the ITE Section level.
We are pleased to launch another new training course: Engaging with Confidence: Essential Prep and Strategies for Successful Engagement. This training introduces practical approaches for preparing and delivering community meetings, tailored for transportation professionals across all levels and sectors. While community engagement can feel daunting, attendees will learn through guided discussions, structured exercises, and collaborative problem solving. If you’re interested in developing practical skills for navigating challenging conversations with the public and strategies for confident engagement, don’t miss this professional development opportunity. See the full workshop description, learning outcomes, trainer biographies, and registration information for the May 12 virtual workshop here.
Excitement is at an all-time high for ITE Canada District’s 2026 Annual Conference in Victoria, British Columbia happening May 31 to June 3. The conference theme — Creating Connections Through Transportation — will explore how transportation can serve as a powerful connector of places, people, and communities. Registration is almost fully sold out and we look forward to highlighting many safety-related topics including Vision Zero, school safety, human-centred design in road safety, automated speed enforcement, inclusive and accessible design, public engagement, and data-driven decision making.
The latest step in the ITE Road Safety Action Plan is the roll out of the ITE Safety Partner Pledge. The Pledge serves as a reminder that the many decisions and actions we take in our professional roles directly impact the safety of users in our transportation networks. We invite CARSP members to explore the ITE Safety Partner Pledge and sign to join ITE in fostering a cultural shift toward safer transportation. As always, we encourage you to check out the wide array of professional development resources from ITE. There are many new resources that have been recently released directly related to road safety such as the Synergy Between Vision Zero and Safe Routes to School Quick Bite (January 2026).
We’d also like to remind you that the deadline to apply for the October 2026 Road Safety Professional (RSP) Certification exams is July 20, 2026.
ITE Canada continues to invite CARSP members to take advantage of the Road Safety for Canadian Practitioners Online Training Program which we jointly offer with TAC. This on-demand, self-directed program includes five modules that can be purchased as a discounted bundle or separately.Keep up with ITE Canada's latest news, including conference news, professional development opportunities, and more at itecanada.org and @itecanada on LinkedIn.
