As a Road Safety Engineer, you will lead road safety projects and initiatives, identify safety problems, develop solutions, and help manage the implementation of road improvement deliverables. Your engineering experience, technical skills, and commitment to effective partnerships are key to driving road safety improvements.

Position Requirements:

  • A professional designation in Engineering, registered (or eligible for registration) with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Transportation Engineering, with at least 3 years of focused experience in Road Safety Engineering.

  • Knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices in Transportation and Municipal Traffic Engineering.

  • Familiarity with the best practices, trends, and developments in Road Safety Engineering and Project Management.

  • Experience with Road Safety Engineering programming and strategies, including education and enforcement safety programs.

  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision, in a high-functioning team environment.

  • The role may require travel within British Columbia, typically for 2-3 days at a time. A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.

Work Arrangements:

  • Mobile: Significant time will be spent in the field, with additional work from the office and the option for remote work within British Columbia.

  • Travel: You may be required to travel across the province to support road safety initiatives.
