BuckleUpBC Campaign (social media package) – March 21st-April 1st, 2022
This RoadSafetyBC campaign aims to spread awareness about the safety benefits of properly wearing a seatbelt, along with key information about proper carseat and booster seat use. The campaign will run from March 21, 2022 through April 1, 2022. It will support and will be run alongside similar occupant restraint campaigns which follow the Provincial Traffic Enforcement Calendar.
In B.C. from 2012 to 2016, approximately one-in-five victims (18%) were not wearing a seatbelt at time of a crash (includes seatbelts, lap belts, infant/child seats and booster seats). Properly wearing your seatbelt reduces the risk and severity of motor vehicle-related injuries and fatalities by over 40%. Through this social media campaign, we hope to further increase awareness by providing parents, caregivers and all British Columbians with the resources and information to help reduce the risks.
