ITE Canada Update

Spring marks a busy period for ITE Canada with many events underway across the country and virtually hosted by our Sections and the ITE Canada District.

ITE Canada’s Training Committee is pleased to offer two professional development courses offered several times this year:

Make your plans today to join us in Halifax, Nova Scotia for the ITE Canada 2025 Annual Conference happening June 1-4, 2025. Set in a city undergoing massive transformation, the program will feature 140+ presentations, panels, technical tours, and more around the conference theme—Complete Communities: Integrating Transportation and Land Use Planning. Many safety-related presentations have been scheduled in addition to several dedicated sessions on the topic - one featuring CARSP President Valerie Smith on a Vision Zero panel moderated by ITE Canada President Pedram Izadpanah. Claim your seat at the best price before the early bird registration deadline on March 31. Find all the details at conference.itecanada.org.

Road safety continues to be a priority for ITE International in 2025. With the release of the ITE Safety Roadmap and Action Plan (2025-2027), our parent organization has laid out a bold framework designed to drive measurable progress toward zero roadway fatalities. Three key implementation actions were recently highlighted: ITE’s Duty of Care and how professionals can embed safety into decision-making, the ITE Safety Pledge and its role in fostering a culture of accountability and commitment to achieving zero roadway fatalities, and Road Safety Audit Training as a critical tool for identifying and addressing roadway hazards. We invite you to learn more about the actionable strategies and find out how you can get involved in the development of resources and services for road safety professionals at ite.org/about-ite/safety-roadmap

ITE also offers a wide array of professional development resources including:

We’d also like to remind you that the deadline to apply for the October 2025 Road Safety Professional (RSP) Certification exams is July 20, 2025.

ITE Canada continues to invite CARSP members to take advantage of the Road Safety for Canadian Practitioners Online Training Program which we jointly offer with TAC. This on-demand, self-directed program includes five modules that can be purchased as a discounted bundle or separately.

Finally, we invite you to check out an ITE Section event in your region to connect with local transportation professionals. Find ITE near you at itecanada.org/sections.
