Partner News – ITE Canada

Another milestone of ITE Canada and CARSP’s partnership was reached this fall with a second joint webinar. This one, hosted by ITE Canada, centred on TransLink and the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Design Guide for Bus Stops Adjacent to Cycling Infrastructure. This Design Guide was awarded both the ITE Canada Stan Teply Outstanding Technical Project Award and the ITE International Transportation Achievement Award for Planning in 2024. The webinar featured an overview of the Design Guide plus lessons learned from extensive stakeholder engagement and pilot projects. It was presented by Brian Patterson, Senior Transportation Planner with Urban Systems and also featured Suzanne Therrien, a transportation planner at the City of Kelowna and Mo Bot, a transportation planner at the City of North Vancouver. Suzanne has a population health and research background focused on active transportation initiatives and Mo specializes in sustainable and active transportation projects. This was a highly anticipated sold-out event with 300 registrants. If you missed the webinar, you can learn more about the project in this article from ITE Canada’s Transportation Talk quarterly.
