Abstract:

This presentation outlines the components of the Way to Be Program.  The Way to Be Program is a pilot program based in Alberta.  The program is based on the road safety education model.  The principles for Road Safety Education Model are as follows:

To be successful school communities need to:
•embed road safety education programs within a curriculum framework
•encourage a sense of shared responsibility
•engage the broader school community and
•work in collaboration with other organizations that have shared
strategic goals
